PARTNERS IN RURAL EMPOWERMENT AND DEVELOPMENT (PARED)

was born in December 1998 and incorporated in 1999 as non-ethnic, non-religious local indigenous social development organization under the laws of Ghana.  This was and still is, a response to the need for an institutional mechanism that could mobilize resources and implement programs and projects for the disadvantaged people in communities in the East Mamprusi District in the Northern Region.

VISION STATEMENT

A society where people are free from hunger, injustice, disease, ignorance and feel worthy of themselves as life becomes meaningful.

MISSION STATEMENT

To work with individuals, groups and communities in East Mamprusi District and beyond to empower them tackle poverty related issues for themselves.  This will be done in partnership with other development organizations who share the same values as we do.

STRATEGY

  1. Working in partnership with other development organizations.
  2. Capacity building of groups and communities.
  3. Generate information from communities.
  4. Community mobilization and animation.

PHILOSOPHY (METHODOLOGY)

PARED believes in the participatory approach to development.  The organization works with communities and groups to analyze their own situations / Challenges and explore alternative ways of solving these collectively using techniques that are familiar with local residence.
